NOVEMBER 6 – 12, 2016
“You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.” (Psalm 119:73 NLT)
God made us! We did not make ourselves. He made us for a purpose. He made us to meet a need. Any product created without a need for it would be a useless failure. Ideas come from needs. Looking around us and seeing the way things work (principles) can help us explain some spiritual things. For example, whatever a farmer sows, he will reap. If he does not reap what he sows, then something definitely went wrong.
If he keeps sowing without fallowing his ground, it will eventually stop producing for him. He must give it time to regenerate, some rest time. God created us that way too. We need quiet times with the Lord to refresh, rejuvenate, regenerate and revive ourselves, otherwise we will burn out and get frustrated. Whether we we know it or not, we are constantly sowing seeds. We are constantly giving of ourselves. We are either sowing the right seeds or the wrong seeds. As we think, as we speak, as we move… we are releasing energy, we are sowing. That energy needs to be replenished.
Okay, so we did not create ourselves, God created us, and just as no product is created without a need for it, God created us to meet a need. We are His handwork, His masterpiece, and He created us for a purpose, to meet a need. The text just blows my mind! “…give me the sense …” That is, let me have the understanding, the discernment, the intelligence (the sense enough to know) that if someone created me, that person created me for a reason. Therefore, I must find out why he made me and what he wants me to do. I can’t live my life like I made myself. “Lord, help me go after learning and understanding who I am through your word.” I have to intentionally go after the word so that I can learn and understand why God made me and what He wants from me, so that I can fulfill that purpose.
Too many of God’s people live dissatisfied lives; feel trapped in the jobs they do, struggle in a business that doesn’t light any fire in them other than the need to make a living. Some are irritated and unhappy with themselves and those around them; blaming everyone, full of self-pity, disliking people who they feel better than but who seem to be living happier lives. Some have lost their self-esteem because they are in situations they don’t know how to free themselves from. Why all this? They are living outside of the purpose for which they were created, that’s why.
I experienced a lot of sadness, unhappiness, pain, failures, low self-esteem and dissatisfaction in my life until I decided “enough is enough!” I knew there was more to my life. If someone created me, that someone needs to tell me, show me what He created me for and help me walk in it. I spent hours upon hours, sleepless nights upon sleepless nights until that light switch turned on, and I could see clearly. Hallelujah!
There is NOTHING in this world that can be compared to the PEACE and JOY of being who you are, who God created you to be. That place of fulfillment is where all the goodies in life come from. Now, my mission is to help others find fulfillment. Live your life! It is the best life! I am so focused on living my life, and refuse to be distracted by remaining at the feet of my Father, my Lord, my Love and my Friend, right there in His word where He is daily transforming my life.
I just let you in on my life. What is your life like? Anything short of fulfillment, peace and joy is just not good enough. Your creator’s plan is so much better. We live in a fast paced world where it seems like nobody can wait for you to get yourself together. I remember when I began my journey of self discovery, there were huge demands on me to get off my studies and back in the market place but I fought it. I fought it because I knew that if I could get this right, then every other thing will fall into place.
My dear Reader, no price is too much to pay to discover you and live your life. No price! The time, energy and resources you’ll spend will be well worth it. You need to be you! It is the most important thing we should be focusing on. This is what Jesus meant when He said in John 10:10, that He has come for us to have and enjoy life abundantly, because it is in Him that we learn to be us.
I pray that the amazing grace of our Lord Jesus Christ will help you fulfill the will of God for your life, causing you to achieve all that you set out to achieve this week. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen! Enjoy you and shine this week!!
