MAY 7 – 13. 2017
“And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible to them.” (Genesis 11:6 AMP)
Every single human being receives a gift from God when they are born. This gift is time. From the moment you are born, you begin the process of managing your life so that you can deliver the solutions God put in you to deliver to your world. Initially your life is managed by your parents, who are to train you to effectively manage your life by yourself (Proverbs 22:6). The effective management of your life is the effective management of your time. Time is the currency of life. You become what you spend your time buying.
Time is life! Whatever you are and become depends on how you use your time and what or who you spend your time with. Remember, time is the currency of life. It is like money. What life are you buying with your time? If you spend your time doing nothing, you will become nothing. Let me rephrase that, “If you spend your time buying nothing, you have nothing.” If you spend your time living someone else’s life (not fulfilling your specific purpose) you will eventually die with nothing.
The journey to discovering my purpose and living it, has not exactly been a jolly ride. I have had to focus, and that has not been easy. I had always been one unable to say no, especially to those older than me or in authority over me, or even my friends. I would inconvenience myself and was always getting distracted. When I say today that I am living “the life,” oh believe me, its a world of difference. It comes with people misunderstanding you, but you know what? You don’t live for them!
The power of time is focus! Time is very focused. Time waits for no one. Time is not sentimental at all! There is nothing you can do or tell it to slow it down. It just goes and keeps going on time. There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time (Ecclesiastes 3:1 ERV). In the same vein, we ought to be focused in our use of time, because the use of time is the buying of life. Never forget this! Whatever you spend your time on (purchase with your time), you become. No wonder the enemy’s number 1 weapon against us is distraction.
Only focus can cause a people to be as they were in the text. They bought into the idea of their leader at the time, saw themselves as one, and so were focused on spending their time building the tower, that nothing except a powerful distraction as division from God could stop them. They became divided by their language. Since they could no longer understand what each other was saying anymore, their power of “one” was broken, breaking their focus from building. However, they got to this place of focus from having a clear picture of who they thought they were, and where they were going.
If you do not have a clear picture of who you are and where you are going; if you do not know the specific purpose for your existence and passionately pursue it, you will not spend time purposefully and will fall prey easily to the enemy’s distractions. You will buy anything with your time, and will struggle to be somebody. Rather than manage your life, you will allow others manage your life for you. Whatever they want you to do, you will do. You will do whatever you see others doing, believing it will bring you the success that they have. Time wasters! Time stealers! Life wasters! Life stealers!
Dear Reader, time is focused and keeps going forward whether you spend it right or not. If you take a look at any clock around you, you will notice the time moving forward. If it is not moving forward, you know definitely something is wrong with the clock. I believe you will not assume it is on its right cause. If you don’t get done what needs to get done, it won’t even sympathize with you. Hmm… Time is so focused on moving forward, there’s nothing you can do to distract it. We can be that way too. Just as time has been set on a cause by God, we also have been set on a cause by God. The difference is, we have to discover what that cause is and use the power of time to accomplish it.
Be very conscious of your relationship with time and the management of your life. You manage your life to accomplish a specific purpose, to get to a specific destination. Only focus can take you to that destination. You must embrace focus! When you embrace focus, time will work for you! You will not purchase anything with your life (spend your time on anything) that will not lead you to your destination. Therefore, if you will become more in this life, you must focus on spending your time on fulfilling the specific purpose you were created for.
I pray that every choice, decision and move you make this week, will be the right one to ensure you are on point with God’s timing and plans for your life. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!! God bless you specially!
