MARCH 12 – 18, 2017
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2 KJV)
I downloaded Ayo Vincent’s latest single, “You Reign” almost a month ago. Since then, it’s accompanied me on my early morning walks. I feel like I am literally brought before the throne of my Father, naked before Him, completely open to His heart to hear and understand Him. I cherish those walks with Ayo Vincent. It was on one of those walks that it dawned on me that conforming to the world is not limited to the fleshly behaviours or purpose of the world but to every aspect of life – the quality of life in the world.
The text shows that we are exposed to life in either of two kingdoms: the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the world. It lets us know that if we are engaged in the renewing of our minds, we will live the quality of life in the kingdom of God. If we are not engaged in renewing our minds, we will live the quality of life in the kingdom of the world.
In the kingdom of the world there is sickness, disease, lack, poverty, pain, disappointments, delays, unhappiness, failures, all forms of immorality, sorrow, and all kinds of troubles and problems. In the kingdom of God there is divine health, abundance, extravagant wealth, peace, happiness, success, enjoyment of life, fruitfulness, fulfillment, love and everything good and beautiful.
In the kingdom of the world, men also utilize the principles of the kingdom of God for results to move ahead. However, even if these principles produce results for them, it can never produce the result of satisfaction of life, without which everything one has feels like nothing. The solutions men in the kingdom of the world have from using the principles of the kingdom of God is never lasting. That is why we can hear of their great success and also hear of the troubles in their lives and for some, death by their own hands.
The text shows us that it is very possible for people in the kingdom of God to live the quality of life in the kingdom of the world. The Lord said in Hosea 4:6 that His people are destroyed because they lack knowledge. When people in the kingdom of God do not have knowledge of who they are as kingdom citizens, they conform to living the quality of life in the kingdom of the world. “But I know who I am as a kingdom citizen! I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am an overcomer. Sin has no power over me because the grace of God is at work in me.” You may say.
Then why do you find the need to lie your way through? Why are you always so unhappy? Why are you so stressed with work and yet are unable to settle your bills? Why are you living in lack and pretending to have plenty? Why are you always wondering when your needs are going to be met, as the word says? Why is the hospital constantly receiving wages from you? Why is your wife your punching bag or your husband your nag bag? Why do you continue to live an adulterous life? Why are you still a drunk? Why can’t you keep a job? Why have you become so fraudulent? Why do you wish you had someone else’s life? Why? Why? Why? Why are you so depressed?
It is time for us as citizens of the kingdom of God to live out the quality of life in our kingdom. This is the time for citizens of the kingdom of God to be so attractive to the world, such that, the world wants what we have. The solution is for us to be intentionally, continuously and constantly, day and night engaged in the process of changing our thoughts and attitudes to the thoughts and attitudes of Jesus Christ. We must see and understand the way Jesus sees and understands. Jesus lived the quality of life of the kingdom of God. By being transformed to Him (2 Corinthians 3:18), we also will live the quality of life of the kingdom of God.
Dear Reader, this right here is your weapon against sickness, disease, lack, fear, unhappiness, depression… Present your body to God, so that naturally, as you become more Jesus, you will be transformed to live the quality of life of the kingdom of God and naturally without any effort, not conform to the quality of life of the kingdom of the world. So, if sickness or lack or anything else not existing in the kingdom of God attacks you, you can tell it to get out because as a citizen of the kingdom of God, you do not conform to anything of the world. Knowledge changes everything.
I pray that you will hunger and thirst greatly for the word of God, delighting in the word of God, meditating upon it day and night, and fully enjoying all the benefits of being a kingdom citizen. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen! Enjoy a fruitful week.
