OCTOBER 30 – NOVEMBER 5, 2016
“Help me to refuse the low and vulgar things; help me to abhor all crooked deals of every kind, to have no part in them.” (Psalm 101:3 TLB)
I am made in the image and likeness of God. I am of high quality, high class. I am of a highly esteemed class. I refuse to think or act less than who I am. I will not smile at, laugh at or accept anything that is less than who I am. My standard is Jesus! Anything less than that, I will not accept.
Just because it looks like light does not make it light. I will have no part with wrong. I set boundaries in my life! I guard my life diligently by guarding what I let into my heart, what I set my thoughts on, what I speak out of my mouth, my actions and who I associate with. I set boundaries!
There are lines you cannot cross with me. Don’t ask me to lie for you so that you don’t get into trouble for somethings you did or didn’t do. Don’t ask me to inflate a price because you want ‘something extra’ for yourself. That is less than me. I refuse it! I will stand for what I believe.
Romans 12:2 instructs us not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. If we are not purposely engaged in the constant renewal of our mind, we will conform to this world. That’s the truth! We just will be unable to help it; we will not be able to uphold the standards of God. I believe there is a deception in the Christendom today, and that is “working for God.” We are so consumed with pleasing God by doing things for Him because it makes us feel good and makes us feel worthy of a blessing or worthy to receive answers to our prayers.
Many believe that working for God is the most important thing to God. I believe differently! I believe that the most important thing to God is YOU. The renewal of your mind. If your mind is being renewed, you will do the will of God, you will live the beautiful life that Jesus died, was buried, and resurrected to bring you into, you will not conform with anything that does not measure up with your Christian life. And you know what? You will win more souls. Hebrews 11:6 lets us know that without faith it is impossible to please God. Well, Jesus has now become our faith. The life we live right now, we live by Jesus. If we want to please God then we must live by Jesus.
I was praying with a dear sister some years back when the Lord began to speak. He told me something that shocked me. He said there was nothing like making my faith work. What? He said faith is living in and by Jesus. Faith is submitting ourselves to the leadership of Jesus. He showed me a person putting on a suit that covered from the top of his head to the soles of his feet. This person was completely covered by the suit, and the suit was alive. The person couldn’t directly see the outside world from inside the suit. He had to accept whatever the suit said it was seeing, feeling, tasting, hearing and smelling.
His senses and his whole being were completely taken over by the suit. The person very importantly, had to be in harmony with the suit. That meant he had to trust the suit. If the suit was taking a left turn, he had to believe that the left turn was the correct turn and take it. If he doubted the turn, they (he and the suit) would have great problems working together; no progress, stagnation and frustration. So, while inside that suit, his main focus is to know the suit very well – you can’t trust who you do not know. He must develop a very close intimate relationship with the suit, so that without any consideration, when the suit is detouring to the left, he just follows – Perfect harmony.
My dear one, this suit is Jesus! How can we be inside Him and be working “for” Him? We are inside Him working “with ” Him. You and Jesus are partners now. He has become your standard, your life. He has no part with the world, that’s why you have no part with the world. You live in Him! Let’s not struggle to see what’s going on in the world so that we can be part of it. We are in Him now. He is our life now. We please God now by developing an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus through the renewal of our mind because it is in that place of renewal that we will be able to do the will of God. It is in that place that our character is developed and we are able to uphold the standards of God, and live the quality of life we were created to live.
I pray that this week will be a fruitful and rewarding one for you. And that your daily living will be a walk of perfect harmony with Jesus. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen! Go and enjoy your life!! God bless you specially!
