“The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 ERV)
Imagine you are in school and the teacher announces there is going to be a test in a certain subject. You begin to prepare. You study day and night until the day finally comes. You get to class and discover the teacher has set questions on topics they haven’t yet taught you on. Can you call that a fair test? Definitely not!
What would be a fair test? A fair test would be that the teacher gives you questions to answer on topics they already taught you on, or asked you to read on.
I have been involved in some technology implementation. There is a very necessary process in implementing a system called “Systems testing.” Until the process is carried out and the system completely passes the test, that system cannot be launched for all to use. To test the system, scenarios are created to confirm the authenticity of the features of the system. We would never create a scenario that tests a feature that the system does not have. If we did that, it would be a waste of our precious time because the system will surely fail the test, and it would only mean that we are deliberately trying to sabotage the system. How can I test something for what I know it cannot pass because I have not equipped it with what it needs to pass the test.
However, as we created scenarios to test the system, we created some scenarios just to show off how intelligent we are in developing such a system. We also created some scenarios that allowed the system make slight mistakes. If it made the mistake, we would then show off its ability to correct the mistake. Actually, we were showing off our ability.
We need to understand that when the bible says that God will not allow any temptation that is too great for us to overcome come our way, it’s not just to show off God’s ability to take care of us, it is to let us know that before a temptation or test comes our way, we were already equipped with the ability to overcome it. Otherwise, it would never ever come our way. Hmm… You are stronger than you think!
The truth is , the testing must happen if we are going to be moved higher. But be sure that the Lord is watching every test, every trial, every temptation that comes your way, and will ONLY allow the ones He has prepared you and fully equipped you for to come to you. That is the reason why the kinds of challenges we face are an indication of our purpose, an indication of the solutions we are in this life to deliver to our world.
Understand this dear One, your God will truly not allow anything greater than you to come your way. When you face any challenge, don’t panic, instead as James says “…count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations;” (James 1:2 KJV). Why? God already gave you the ability to pass it with an A* and move on up higher, that’s why!
All you need to do is to continue to grow in the knowledge and understanding of who you are, who He is that lives inside of you, His power and His love for you, so that you can confidently pass the test. And if that test is proving too difficult for you to just walk past it, present it to the Lord in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving as Philippians 4:6 says, and He will show off His ability to confidently and powerfully free you off it. You will see Him in His faithfulness, standing right there with you, directing you and giving you clues (expo) on how to pass the test because He is for you.
I pray that the peace of God that passes all understanding will be with you and cause you to excel in all that you do every single day of this week. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen! Go and excel!! God bless you specially!
